The Serpent Trail - 100k
The Serpent Trail is a long distance trail through some of the most breathtaking countryside in the South East. This is the race along all of it, from Haslemere to Petersfield, in the South Downs National Park.
The bigger climbs and more regular ascents (including the highest point in the National Park, Blackdown) come in the first half of the race with some long downhill sections and the route is then flatter for the last 30km. The trail is a mix of tracks, paths and short sections of road on generally sandy trails that dry well. NEW for 2018! - The whole of the last 50k of the routes permanent signage (from Petworth) will be supplemented with our a5 size race signage arrows to help make navigating as easy as possible so you can just run!
We supply you with 2 drop bags during the race. The Drop bags are your ‘crew’ - some of the mandatory kit can be distributed between these bags so you have it available during the race should you need it - but you don’t have to carry it all the time, enabling you to make decisions about what to carry when and not be weighed down unnecessarily! Kit List info HERE
The 100k Serpent Trail Race has been planned so you can go fast and light, and is fully signed to allow you to just run! Often firm underfoot due to the nature of the ground, with good signage and support, relatively small hills and a flatter second half; this 100k could be fast…
